How Creativity Heightens Your Intuition

It's a Fact, Creativity Increases Intuition. Our modern culture focuses so intensely on results, that we often race to the finish line wearing blinders and missing out on the many benefits presented along the route. We fear that taking time to relax and to be creative will slow us down and dull our senses. In fact the truth is opposite.
Congratulations for taking the time to relax and read this brief article, you are on your way to deepening your understanding of creativity and its many benefits.
In the spirit of enjoying the route, I will explain only about one of the benefits of creativity in this article; the benefit of intuition. I will share more insights about many other benefits of creativity in future articles.
Throughout time, artists have been revered as highly intuitive, and often thought of as mystics. This is because the creative process requires the ability to imagine. When we relax, we can more easily use our imagination and access our subtle senses. These intuitive senses cannot be seen, however they are deeply felt, very personal, and they can be developed. These senses can come in a variety of forms. They can be visual, auditory, or a feeling of energy in a particular part of the body.
For instance, the process of creating a piece of visual art beckons one to spend time in their “minds eye” trying to imagine how the piece of art will manifest. This ability to imagine is a muscle, the more one allows their self to imagine, the stronger their skill at envisioning becomes. It’s a paradox, relaxing to become stronger. Thus, imagining becomes a form of meditation because it increases ones ability to relax and to receive. What is received as images, sounds, or feelings can then be built upon in the creative process.
For instance a musician will allow their self to imagine or hear tones and melodies with their inner ear, before writing down or playing an instrument, while an inventor may feel a concentration or tingling of energy in their heart, hands or another area of their body before building an idea.
As we develop our imagination, we can more easily combine the feelings of our inner world with the facts of our outer world. This leads us to knowing which tools to use in manifesting our creations.
So next time you are considering the facts, remember to consider what you are feeling. When you take the time to relax and be creative, you are increasing your ability to be intuitive and to improve all areas of your life.
